About us

Crubow Collies

In 1971, my husband and I wanted to buy a rough colllie puppy for my in-laws, they had just lost their

«Lassiedog» and we wanted to give them a new puppy. We had to have the puppy by us for 2 weeks,

before we could deliver the puppy and when the day came, neither my husband nor I could let the

puppy go. This is the start of how rough collies came into my life and has been a part of my life ever

since. Bowie was hers name.

fullverdig liv.

My childhood was all about animals of all sorts, both domestic, dogs and cats. I was thought always to

take good care of any animal in your care and how important that is. They should be properly looked

after and this has been my guiding star all my life. When you take on the responsibility of a living

being, it is your duty to make sure it has the best in life.

My sister was keen to get a puppy after Bowie, so in 1974 my very first litter came into the world.

Conformation shows and breeding became my great passions, an interest that has sent me around

the world and have given me the opportunity to become personal friends with a lot of lovely people.

Dundrennan Debonair. Og 1974 kom mitt første kull , 8 små underverker, og min lidenskap for

oppdrett var et faktum.

The collie was in a dire straight after the Lassie-fever in the 50’ties and 60’ties and in my country, huge

difference in type and a lot with poor temperament. The breed was not on the agenda as a good one in

other dog-communities, which I did not understand at all, as I thought I had the best dog ever. When I

decided to go into breeding, I wanted to do my very best and would try not to do a disfavour to the

breed. My choice for the dog of my first litter was UK Import Dundrennan Debonair. My first litter saw

the light of day in 1974, 8 new wonders and my passion for breeding was laid out.

Tuch Fizz, 1983 IntNuch Royal Charter of Rokeby.

1984 importerte jeg Just After Dark at

fortvilelse.

I quickly realised that if I should succeed in my search for improvement, I had to turn my head in the

direction of the “homeland” of the breed. In 1980 my first import CH Dindella Annabella came, a

wonderful broodbitch, who became the foundation for my breeding, a unique bitch through and

through, 8 champions to her credit, don’t think any bitch can match that. More imports followed

Dindella and in 1981 CH Corydon Tuch Fizz, in 1983 Int.CH Royal Charter Of Rokeby. I believe I had

good movement and good anatomy, but I thought I lacked the best heads and expression and as I

continually wanted to better my breeding, my eyes got hold of Amalie rough collies, with beautiful

heads and expression as well as good anatomy. The owner of the kennel Anne Hollywood, became a

very good friend of mine and our working relationship has always been great. I imported Just After

Dark At Amalie, a beautiful tricolour dog, who unfortunately had bad hips, it was devastating for both

Anne and me.

importerte jeg stjernen IntNuchNv-02 NordV 04 Amalie Just Intime, i 2008 kom Nuch Lynmead

Lets Go Black og i 2013 kom tric tispen Marvalan Northen light for Crubow og Top Less X-Trail

In 1995,

I got a wonderful replacement and CH Frobisher Freelancing Amalie came to me. A sable

dominant, with a temperament and “look” as a true collie should have. In 1997 I imported a mated

bitch from Amalie; Amalie Orange Blossom, who was mated to Pelido International Affair. From this

litter I kept a tricolour dog CH Crubow’s Proper Pilot, a very stable and beautiful dog. In 2000 I

imported my superstar Int.CH, NW-02, NORDW-04 Amalie Justin Time. In 2008 CH Lynmead Let’s Go

Black came to me and in 2013 my last 2 imports; Marvalan Northern Light For Crubow, a tricolour

bitch and Top Less X-Trail, a blue-merle dog.

My imports have given me more than 50 champions, more of them Int.champions and more than 100

breeding awards. BIS in both breed and breeding. The star of it all was when I was award the Honory

Award 2013 for excellence in breeding, the only one given to a rough collie breeder. I am so proud of

this award. My motto has always been; A collie must be both beautiful on the outside as well as on the

inside!
